Description

A jolly choir song in praise of wine.

Bring out the goblets! Pour the wine!
Praise to the vintage, red and white!
Salute to the harvest of the vine!
Banish sobriety! Welcome delight!

Workaday life is drear and dull,
Workaday life is prim, correct
Sober, pedantic virtually null,
predictable just what we all expect
But by the grape the response is heightened
Bringing a sparkle to the eye
Our pulse is racing our heart is lightened,
our tongues are unloosed and the hours fly by!

Bring out the goblets! Pour the wine!
Praise to the vintage, red and white!
Salute to the harvest of the vine!
Banish sobriety! Welcome delight!

Everyday life's routine and grey
Ev'ryday life is inhibited and grim,
Mondy to Friday and every day
Treadmill that renders vision dim,
And drains our energy and our joy
and tips creativity quite askew
Requiring the Bacchanalian boy
to bring us to life, and to shape us anew.

Bring out the goblets! Pour the wine!
Praise to the vintage, red and white!
Salute to the harvest of the vine!
Banish sobriety! Welcome delight!
