Description

It's original habitat in the 'Teesdale Suite' was meant to portray the remote cold winters of Baldersdale where Hannah Hauxwell once lived. The piece was the 2nd movement of the 'four seasons' section of the Teesdale Suite and was called 'A Winter Too Many'. I then discovered the enchanting local mythology regarding Elspeth and the Lord of Romaldkirk, and Valley of the Ice Flowers was born. The story is related in the music (PDF) file.
