Description

A DARK AND FATAL BEAUTY was written in 2004 and is for two pianos four hands. The piece is in one movement of approx. 9' 30" duration and was written for piano duos that are at the professional level. The influences of Art Tatum and boogie woogie show through in certain of the sections. I tried to think of the construct as basically being that of one super' piano with a single player capable of being able to do things that would be normally impossible for only one player. The title itself can refer to any obsessive relationship, but in my case that relationship is the one I have with music, which has both greatly enchanted and disappointed me.
