Description

This high-spirited solo piano sonata is in four movements: Intrada, Scherzo, Notturno, and Finale. It is shamelessly neoclassical, unusual for the time in which it was composed (dominated by atonality). The sonata is at times tonal, at times polytonal, and at times dissonant, but always cadencing in a tonal fashion. Duration about 19 minutes. NOTE: The sound sample is of the first two movements in their entirety.
