This famous Polka was composed with Johann's brother Josef

The Polka is a fast, lively dance which originated in the middle of the 19th century in Bohemia. In classical music, many polkas were composed by both Johann Strauss I and his son Johann Strauss II.
The name comes from the Czech word Polka, literally meaning "Polish woman".
