Description

The inspiration for this guitar solo goes back to 1975 when I read Adalbert Stifter's Brigitta, but, as I see it now, the music doesn't really have much to do with the story. However, having met two Brigitten recently, with whom I was pleased to sing at a Singkreis in Haworth, I renamed the piece "Brigitte", transcribed it from my old manuscripts and performed it this very evening - as you can hear from the "sample".
It is a meditation piece and its sparseness of chords allows the guitarist to make the most of his/her technique to create the most beautiful sounds possible on every single note (which have to be better than mine!).
