Description

Since this piece is meant to sound like either a string section or a pipe organ, it is important to carefully observe the ties and legato fingering and to avoid using the pedal. If you use a voice other than "strings," be sure that it sustains well, because some notes are sustained for as long as eight measures.

The piece needs to "breathe," so let your fingers gently leave the keys at the ends of phrases. Since both hands are required at the end, you may not be able to fade, unless you have a volume pedal. If you have a sustain pedal, you might catch the first sound in measure 39 with the pedal, freeing one of your hands to reach for the volume control.
