Description

Written in 2006 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of W A Mozart's birth, this piece begins with a quote from the opening measures of his Horn Quintet in E flat (K407) and was first published in Classical Guitar magazine in that same year.

The fantastical nature of this piece is reminiscent of so much of Mozart's music, imbued as it is with the inherent sense of style and form that is instantly recognisable; hence, the fantasy here is provided with many of the characteristics of first movement or sonata allegro form without ever going so far as to claim so grand a designation.
