It is with great sadness to report that our beloved friend, colleague, and MyScoreStore co-founder Elisabeth Coutts passed away, after a long and challenging battle against cancer, on 5 August 2009. She died peacefully at her home in Zurich, Switzerland.

Elisabeth was born 24 September 1967 in Boston (MA), and studied economics at Wellesley (MA). Afterwards she worked for the National Bureau of Economics in Cambridge (MA), where she programmed simulation software for US taxes. From 1995 to 2002, she studied and obtained a degree in psychology at the University of Konstanz in Germany. Her work at the University of Konstanz, up until she transferred to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, focused on foundations and research methodology in social science. Since April 2004 she worked as a research assistant and Ph.D. student at the department of Sociology at the ETH. Here she focused on new methods in social research, specialising in statistical techniques for complete anonymisation, used in survey research.

Elisabeth's academic skills and deep knowledge of economics, sociology, and psychology were invaluable to our team and the launch of MyScoreStore. We will miss her greatly and never forget her intellectual talents, engagement and friendship, and personal touch to everything she did.

Private ceremonies will be held in Zurich and San Diego.
